Our Mission
The Dr. Mehrdad Shafa Medical Scholarship Foundation (MSMSF) is committed to providing up to four years of financial support to promising individuals to further their academic studies in the pre-medical, nursing, or allied health science at an accredited college, university, or educational program in the United States.
Scholarship Amount: $1,000.00 – $5000 annually.
Scope:
• Pre-medical Students enrolled in a 4 year approved medical school in the United States prepares students for entry into a variety of first professional degree or graduate school programs that require similar prerequisites (such as medical or pharmacy schools). Studies related to veterinary medicine are excluded.
• Nursing students enrolled in a 2 year, 3 years or 4 years approved nursing school/program, including graduate programs for nurse practitioner and anesthesiology in the United States.
• Health Sciences students enrolled in an approved program in the United States. Allied Health professionals are involved with the delivery of health or related services pertaining to the identification, evaluation, and prevention of diseases and disorders; dietary and nutrition services; rehabilitation, and health systems management, among others. Allied health professionals include dental hygienists, diagnostic medical sonographers, dietitians, medical technologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, radiographers, respiratory therapists, and speech-language pathologists.
Our Promise
MSMSF Scholarships are enhanced by our foundation’s promise of guidance and leadership, with accomplished professionals offering their expertise to our students through our Mentoring Program.
Our Board of Trustees will review applications for financial assistance on a bi-annual basis. MSMSF awards scholarships based on a variety of factors to promising students interested in education in the health sciences. Scholarships are awarded on basis of achievement, scholastic standing, financial need, and available funding.
